Recess Boxes are usually installed as follows:

New homes or extensions:

As the brickwork is being laid
Usually installed before the plumbing rough-in
Secured by fold-out brick ties incorporated in the box

Existing installations

By cutting an opening in the brickwork
Strengthening with a lintel as necessary
Secured by drilling holes in the sides and fix in position with suitable flush headed masonary anchors

Adding the semi-recessed frame RBOX02F to the Box supports installation in a shallower wall cavity (min 140mm) with the box protruding 100 mm from the wall.
